The Visit from Kevin and Richard

Kevin and Richard come to visit Karissa out at Madames

Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley and Lt. Richard Williams decides to ride out in Richard's convertible mustang from Star-Fleet Academy to see Karissa out at Madame's Boarding House.

Kevin and Richard walk to his car and Richard tells Kevin " This is a great idea that we go to visit Karissa out at Madame's Boarding House."

"We have no scheduled classes today, Richard. I don't feel like hanging around Star-Fleet Academy." Kevin tells him.

"What about dead-beat Lord Andrew Charles Howard and Lord Richard William Carey?" Richard asks.

"I wouldn't worry about either of those runny nose stuffy aristocrats. I mean Lord Richard William Carey is a friend of mine." Kevin admits.

"Both Lord Andrew Charles Howard and Lord Richard William Carey look to win Karissa and marry her, but she is steadfast in what she wants in a marriage. She doesn't want to marry an aristocrat and I can't blame her." Kevin tells Richard.

"We all know Karissa is one of us. She doesn't like their rigid rules that govern them." Richard tells Kevin.

"Heck, Handy Andy as I call him. Doesn't like their rigid rules that govern them either. Andy Howard is the most rebellious, defiant, young man in the Howard family." Kevin tells his friend.

"He isn't like his two brothers, Charles Andrew III and Patrick William." Kevin admits.

"Lord Richard William really doesn't conform to their rules either. He thinks they need to be changed." Kevin admits.

"I don't find them appealing.' Kevin tells Richard.

"These aristocrats that govern on Star Base 12 are headed nowhere, but they have a title, and property that they have inherited." Kevin admits.

"I prefer The Cravens and Collins. They come from good gentry families, but they don't have a title or property." Kevin tells Richard.

"What is the difference Kevin between an aristocrat and a gentry?" Richard asks.

Gentry is birth; condition; rank by birth while aristocracy is the nobility, or the hereditary ruling class." Kevin tells Richard.

"Gentry means from a well bred family of good social status, but they are below the aristocracy." Kevin explains.

"I think you would like Lady Josette and Lady Isabella Collins." Kevin tells his friend, "They are true ladies of quality."

"Come on Kevin. I have to graduate before I can even think about marrying and settling down." Richard tells him.

"We are friends with Karissa. I am content with our friendship and she is one of us, and not from the Gentry or Aristocrat class here on Star Base 12." Richard tells Kevin.

Richard and Kevin climb into Richard's mustang and Richard turns on some music as he is driving with Kevin toward Madame's Boarding House.

"You are right about Karissa. She is one of us." Kevin confesses.

"She won't be one of us for long if either Lord Andrew Charles Howard or Lord Richard William Carey get their paws on her." Richard tells Kevin.

"Karissa wants no part of their aristocracy." Kevin tells him " She has offered them a platonic friendship just like us."

"I don't think either one of them will stop until they get her, Kevin." Richard tells him.

"I really don't think we can do anything about it." Kevin confesses, " Karissa has a good head on her shoulders."

"I know she doesn't care for Handy Andy Howard, but she does like Lord Richard William Carey, if anyone wins it will be Lord Richard William Carey." Kevin tells Richard.

"I sure hope you are right." Richard tells Kevin and they finally reach Madame's Boarding House out in Bedford Territory and drive up the driveway of Madame's Boarding.

Madame Valois sees them drive up from her window and she calls out " Karissa. You have company."

Karissa walks over to the window and she sees Kevin and Richard get out to the car and she smiles "It's Kevin and Richard, Madame Valois." Karissa tells Madame Valois.

Karissa opens up the front door and she waits for Kevin and Richard to walk up the stairs and she smiles " What a nice surprise?"

"Hi Karissa. Richard and I thought we would come out and see you today. We had no boring classes to attend at Star-Fleet Academy. Just hanging around the place makes me depressed." Kevin admits.

"I am glad that Richard and you came out. You can join us for lunch and dinner. We can spend the day out in the garden." Karissa tells them.

"I thought Pansy Andy Howard would be here bothering you." Kevin tells Karissa.

"Oh you mean, Lord Preppy." Karissa says with a laugh.

"Well, that is a good name for him. Lord Preppy sure fits him right. He went to that Parochial School here on Star Base 12." Kevin says with a laugh.

"What happened to Lord Richard William Carey?" Richard asks.

"I have no designs on Lord Carey." Karissa tells Richard " He goes and comes."

"I am fine with it." Karissa tells Richard "He isn't as irritating as Lord Preppy."

"They both seek your affection, Karissa." Richard tells her.

"They may seek but that doesn't mean they will receive anything " Karissa tells Richard.

"I don't understand why they don't look for a young woman within their own class." Karissa tells them.

"I am sure they have their reasons." Kevin admits.

"Lord Preppy has never approved of the aristocracy he is born into and the only two gentry families on Star Base 12 are the Cravens and Collins." Kevin tells her.

"There is the Beck's but Lt. Commander David Beck is his first cousin." Kevin tells Karissa.

"There are three gentry families on Star Base 12- The Beck's, The Cravens, and Collins." Kevin explains.

"I am afraid that only the Collins have three daughters, Lady Angelique who is a terrible courtesan, Lady Josette and Isabella who lived out here with you." Kevin admits.

"What, you didn't hear the news Kevin?" Karissa asks.

'Lady Josette Collins is engaged to a gentleman named, Lord John Seymour and they say that Lady Elizabeth Tinley and Lady Anne Say had the same mother, Lady Elizabeth Cheney. " Karissa tells him.

"Lady Ann Say married a man name Lord Henry Wentworth and they had a daughter, Lady Margery Wentworth that married Sir John Seymour and they had Lord Edward Seymour who married twice and it is through his first marriage to Lady Catherine Fillol through her son, Lord Edward Seymour, that Lord John Seymour comes from." Karissa explains.

"Lady Josette is going to be remotely related from The Howard's as Lady Elizabeth Cheney married twice." Kevin asks.

"Precisely, Lady Ann Say was Lady Elizabeth Tinley half sister and thus half Aunt to Lady Elizabeth Howard and Great- Aunt to Queen Anne Boleyn and Lady Mary Boleyn." Karissa tells him.

"I hope Lady Josette is happy with her choice." Kevin tells her.

"She appears to be very happy, as The Collins don't expect Lady Angelique to marry and they only have Lady Isabella to marry off." Karissa tells him.

"Come on now, Kevin and Richard. Let's go out into the garden. I have my portal radio. We can listen to some good old music that will bring back good old memories." Karissa tells them.

Kevin and Richard smile and with Kevin on Karissa's right side and Richard on Karissa's left side. They escort her side by side to the Garden.

Kevin, Karissa and Richard enter the garden and the garden is in full bloom and they smile and they tell her "You have done an amazing job with the garden."

"Thank you, all it needed was tendering loving care and it came back to life." Karissa tells them.

"Karissa. The next Star-Fleet Academy Dinner Dance is going to be around Halloween." Kevin tells her.

"Oh you mean Samhain." Karissa asks.

"What is Samhain?" Kevin asks Karissa.

"Samhain is my New Year as I am a Norse Pagan. It's also known to Hispanics as "Day of The Dead" and "An Ancestor's Day." Karissa tells them.

"Samhain in Gaelic means ''Summer Ends." Karissa explains.

"I will be happy to attend the Star-Fleet Dinner and Dance with Richard and you just as long as I don't have to dress up in a ridiculous costume." Karissa asks.

"I think the next one will be right before Christmas." Kevin tells him

"I don't celebrate Christmas. I celebrate the 12 days of Yuletide that begins on December 20 through January 1." Karissa tells them.

"I respect your religious beliefs." Karissa explains.

"Richard and you are welcome to help me celebrate Yuletide and we will sing Yuletide songs, exchange simple presents, and eat a Yuletide meal." Karissa tells them.

"Sounds like fun Karissa." Richard tells her " I have no family of my own and I look upon Kevin and you as my own family."

Karissa turns on some music for them to listen to and Madame Valois brings out a lunch basket of food for them to share.

Karissa, Kevin, and Richard spend the entire day out in the garden at Madame's Boarding House.

Finally the day winds down and Kevin says, "We better start back to Star-Fleet Academy Richard. We have to rise and shine tomorrow for another boring class."

"Oh yes. Back to grindstone." Richard tells him.

Karissa walks Kevin and Richard back to his car and she kisses each other on their cheek and they return the kiss with an embrace and they tell her ' We will be back soon Karissa."

"I look forward to it, Kevin and Richard. Now don't study too hard." Karissa tells them and she watches them jump into the car and drive away.
