Man in Uniform

A man in uniform is not to be mistaken.
That uniform is to identify his sacrifice.

A man stands on a battle field paying dues for everyone.
For the men an women and children back home.

Seeking no praise, no recognition.
This is the job he chose, to be on a mission.

The mission he upholds is ones freedoms.
To live freely with out judgement.

The man in uniform who stands alone waving a flag.
The man who refuses to surrender when things get really bad.

He asks for no medals not any praise.
He holds his head proud when greeted by a cheery crowd.

For this is his gain for a job well done.
To see the ones left behind to hold the hand of a free child.

A man in uniforms only wish
to see his family and unified nation

The one he stood up for bloody and buried in mud.
Holding up his flag while his brothers lay beside him.
