Glimpse

Glimpse

A Poem by Closet Writer
"

More like an ode or mood than poem

"
When looking in the mirror is like looking in your past,
When a glimpse of  what was is all the remains.

Where a child once stood and adult now stands.
Where dreams once soared but reality hovers.
A glimpse of yourself once boy now man.

When things of simplicity have grown to utter confusion.
Where behaviors once used are sudden a burden.
The glimpse of a past page once turned the feel of
youth a child once yearned.

Looking back in what once was, and seeing only the remains.
A wish berried beneath formal wear and smug smile.
Take a glimpse in what could be, pursue the dreams
let by the child within.

Where a young child once stood is a grown adult.
With a glimpse to the past things could fall apart.
A change could be fearsome this is so.
For one change could turn the looking glass around,

To change your fears upside-down.
Glimpse at yourself if you have ever fallen, not
moments to soon could your world be mended.

All that must happen is to look back and see
the reflections that once was may now not
be!
