Pushing Buttons

Pushing Buttons

A Poem by JessicaRose

I've been sick and sad for far too long
over an uncertainty. Unfortunately I've not yet
learned how to tamp down the inexplicable urge
to second-guess and overanalyze, though
it's not for lack of trying.
And you are an enabler.
Knowing every single button to push, and relishing
in fingering them all. Knowing, smug as you always were,
exactly how far you could shove me before
you could sit back, relax, and
enjoy the meltdown.

It's so crazy how some people know just how to push you over the edge...the fact that they know you so incredibly well in order to do that on a whim. I hate knowing that some people can have me so figured out sometimes...

Very dark but very beautiful. It is so realistic and people can connect with it. I love it. Great work.
