Eventually, Everything Connects

Eventually, Everything Connects

A Poem by JessicaRose

OUr lives all come together
in circles.

Some, small as the spiral shell
of a child's ear.
Some, decades in diameter.
Some, thin - imperceptible
as a trip wire.
Others, thick as the delineation
between before and
after.
Some have come to closure.
Some, we don't come upon the start of
until we have one foot
in the grave.

This maddening cycle of
Newton's law
keeps us chasing the action,
but never recognizing the reaction.
