Gravestones

Gravestones

A Poem by JessicaRose

you murdered our love in the dead

of the night. you watched it

hemorrhaging in the street.

blood congealed on a knife you

forgot was still clutched in your fist.

drag what's left of it away.

dig it a shallow grave.

ask her to scatter dirt over this

beauty we had, that she helped to shuffle off

this mortal coil.

I promise this will haunt you. I'll resurrect it

every night

to stalk your dreams

and hers.
