Colored Girl

Colored Girl

A Poem by JessicaRose

I've opened my veins a thousand
times, believing the answer was
in my blood. The color
it ran. My definitive answer, if only I could
decipher it.
Every young girl has to learn
the steel-tipped lesson of
which end of the color spectrum
she lies on.
