Capsized

Capsized

A Poem by JessicaRose

You drowned me in promises
     of tomorrow, in the
          weight of the
               future,
but left me with no life jacket
or bouy. Didn't even toss out a bit
of driftwood to keep me afloat
as you left me behind,
     promises breaking like
          waves against your hull.
