Porch Light Signal

A Story by Lady Wolf
"

Another piece of flash fiction.

Leave it off.”

But Gran, it’s getting dark out!”

I said leave it off.”

But HE’LL come!”

I am old. I am ready. Let HIM come tonight.”

The young man hugged his grandmother with tears in his eyes and headed for bed.

Leave your bedroom light on lest HE come for you too.”

The dark figure coalesced in front of the only house not illuminated by a porch light. He moved up the steps and through the front door.

Gran smiled tiredly when she heard the porch creak. HE came through the door and Gran held out her hand, “Greetings Death.”
