Ridiculous

Ridiculous

A Poem by Bev
"

Gazing in the mirror.

"

You lose yourself to the fantasies

The thoughts inside left unspoken
And then you stand one day finally giving in
And you speak those silent dreams
Only to be filled with regret and dread
Feeling defenseless and exposed
Your next thought is only the desire to enshroud yourself
To hide from the mocking gaze that taunts you
Could it be you’re alone to face it?
Why did you make the mistake in trusting again?
Ridiculous, looking back you realize now
How to face your reflection again?
How to go on broken and humiliated?
Everyday a daily routine, mentally chiding
Abrasive thoughts punish your mind
You wish to be numb and nothing more
