Will You Regret?

Will You Regret?

A Poem by Bev
"

Obviously inspired by a change in my life and the confusion it causes.

"

A whirlwind of emotion building up in me,

Like a directionless compass I spin
My heart tells me one thing, my head another.
Do you listen to your conscience or your heart?
Keep them happy, to keep you happy...
But is it happiness to just exist?
Isn't it better to follow your heart?
Never regret...
Will you regret?
How do you know which direction to turn?
Disappoint the rest or free yourself.
Live unknowing, live wondering.
Or take a leap and pray you’ll be forgiven?
Search for an answer that will never come.
Split in two, two halves pulling apart.
Hurt those you love, or yourself?
Could you ever be happy with just a dream?
Could you be happy in what you want, if you hurt them?
A fork in the road you try to avoid.
Everything comes to a head eventually.
Everyday of your life you live worrying about others.
Worrying about hurting them.
Doing the right thing.
You know what will make you happy,
But is it worth risking everyone else’s happiness?

Wow! This is a very powerful poem. The battle between pleasing yourself and pleasing others is a difficult one to fight. If you hurt someone else, you feel hurt. If you hurt yourself, you have to deal with it on your own.

An excellent poem!!!!
