Don't Fall

Angsty, angry poem.

Love is simple, love is effortless

Like a bird knows instinctively how to fly,

feeling the wind beneath his wings lift him higher

Floating peacefully

So we magically know what to do in love

It is our nature

 

But nature, like love, is cruel

At once beautiful, effervescent, awe inspiring

It soon rears its ugly head, knocking us down off our pedestal

And like a bird shot down from the sky, we fall, so far

Down to earth, to reality

Our heads no longer in a fog

We feel pain, sharp and constant

 

Don’t fall.
