I no longer understand you

You go from claiming you want me more than anything

To saying nothing at all

It’s as if you’ve vanished, poof! 

Gone

I reach out to you

Only to meet empty air

I’m not willing to give up just yet

This new person I’ve become

That you have not yet met

Is stronger, no longer weak and timid

I maintain a positive attitude

And refuse to believe that you could change so completely overnight

I refuse to believe your words weren’t genuine

I refuse to believe you don’t still feel the same

You reached out to me before

And I clasped your hand in mine gratefully

But then your hand became a ghost

And slipped through my fingers

Where have you gone?

You’re nowhere to be found

Yet I refuse to give up hope

Because I believe in you

I believe in us

I have faith, not in a god

But in true love

Though you’ve hurt me

Much of it was done to better me

Your intentions were good

Even when they were hard to decipher

I forgive you all your sins

I hope you can forgive mine

I believe together we can be strong

Stronger, healthier, happier than before

So the next time I reach out, please

Clasp my hand in yours

Hold it firmly, confidently

I’m confident in our potential

Prove to me you’re the man

that I believe you to be.

Not one who hides, loses courage, a coward.

Be the respectable, understanding man I know you to be.

Come back to me

Let us be happy together

Your words were so beautiful

I refuse to believe they were false.

I liked the piece, a uniqueness to it as presented in experimental prose format.

Though perhaps a suggestion, if you were to play with the words creating more symbolism this piece would tak on a whole new life.

But the expression is of the artist, it is only the readers place to learn from it.
