Sorrow

Sorrow

A Poem by Lady Scarlet

My life is perfect, can't you see?

Calm and collected is all I can be.

Never wishing harm to anyone,

Yet here I stand, coming undone.

The lace is falling to my feet,

My tears are calling to the sheets.

I've never broke before,

And fear is calling from behind the door.

"Come girl, just let go,

Let anger be all you know,

It will hold you through the night,

Take away your fear and fright."

So here I stand all alone,

As I say goodbye on the phone.

You never knew how I felt,

But we all play the hand we are dealt.

It seems so unfair to think back,

But now I know what I lack.

I lack the heart of gold,

but mostly I lack you to hold.
