This Time

This Time

A Poem by Free Thinker

You put me in his pocket gave it a pat and walked away
Stopped and turned around
Askin him to keep me safe
He asked if you were done
You simply smiled and said you'd had your fun
A few days passed and you came back
Lookin for what you left behind
This time you couldn't take what you would find
This time I was not in his pocket
My heart in his hands
This time you could not stop it
No matter the plot scheme or scam
This time things didn't go according to your plan
Now you sit and think about your mistakes
Where did you go wrong makin fake apologies
Tryin to hold on
Doin all the little things
That should've already been done
I hope you learn the lesson left for you to learn
So you may move on
Once you've used it up and thrown it away
I am threw is what you portray
And while it sits there on the curb
It may catch the eye of someone new
Everyone knows
One mans trash
Is another mans treasure
He will love and cherish it
And definitely treat it better than you
