Kisses coverd in lies
And yet
She still tries
The familure taste of regret
Is one she won't soon forget
Posioned by the bitter truth
Stealing the last of her youth
Soul to numb to cry
Every tear has run dry
She wears a smile as her disguise
To hide her slow demise

This is exactly the kind of situation I referenced in my current poem "A stained red Rose". How going through this type of relationship can lead one on a path to love destructively through no fault of their own just because that is how they were treated. Your words here perfectly express the lead up to what happens after which my poem describes. Thank you for sharing this poem. It really says a lot about the direction love can go when it's not a healthy relationship. Though most are not always healthy.

I have to warn you though it's pretty dark. I should have put a warning on it. "Sutures" another peom of mine has a similar dark tone to it too. Though probably a more hopeful ending. Thank you again though for sharing your thought provoking art. It really is written with a lot of truthful emotion which I respect in things I tend to read.
