I Realize I Lied

I realized I lied when

I said to you that I don’t ask for much.

Apparently I do 

just the sun and the moon…and the world

just your undying love and worship

your heart

your soul

expansion and rapture

your eager and willing captivity and enslavement

your creative energies

your advice

your underworld, underwater,

psychic time and attentions now and again

your passion

your patience

You must forgive me.

It is wholly unconscious and unintentional.

For some reason I cannot have less.

I try for less - and fail.

I try to be reasonable.

I am always grateful, gentle and appreciative of

all that I'm given.

I can only laugh at myself and my flaws.

I am not perfect after all.

I guess this means I’m a demanding person.

I cannot help myself,

this creature I am.

scales of sterling silver

a mermaid

a dragon

grooming jeweled wings

You must tolerate this

or never know me.

In return I shall

honour the

creature you are

and in time we will

come to know

each other

by

heart.
