After The Ride

Loved ones hijack you
Hit the accelerator
On the magic carpet of you
They forget you're a person
Even those rug rats
You allow on your back
Syphoning your life force
Like an ATM is used for cash
Until you've nothing left
Your account is emptied out
Too tired to lift yourself
To experience another sunrise
To realize you choose the journey
You are important to so very many
Wearied and drearied, you fall into sleep
Dream of other possibilities
Taking instead of giving
Restoring your magic to full account
All of it, your love, your life force restored
A magic carpet that wildly soars
Taking instead of giving support
Full of energy to find clear skies
But in a world divested of loved ones
Alone but ever so high
Until you are empty again
