Hums

Hums

A Poem by Tricia Pattinson

Hums
by Tricia Pattinson

Avoid the news
Pandora's fall
Corruption's chains
Wormy wars

Fear today's breakfast
Toasted with tea(rs)
Avoiding doesn't stick
What difference will I be?

The spinning of the World
Does not mimic my mind and heart
Too many asleep on the wheel of life
Too many tranquilized and spiraling down

Humankind devolves
To humofunkind
And those awake crying
This lesson must be allowed

For consciousness to triumph
The hearts and minds of hums
Must learn violence begets violence
Love begets love!
