The Steps

The Steps

A Poem by Tricia Pattinson

The Steps
by Tricia Pattinson

In light or darkness our steps
Are will in motion
Not destiny or fate
But choices

Consequences lift up or descend us

To a podium or pit
We propel ourselves
Into another experience
A laboratory for ego's reign

Pursuit or persuasion to our own greatness

We trek the steps
At first unconscious
Cascading darkness
Climbing light beams

Upon awakening the steps are flattened

What was illusion of ego's mastery
Becomes unrecognized by the will
The pit and podium degrades
To a single point

If not love then fear!

-- Indeed!.. I'm amazed by this poem, from the way it is written into the message within. Well done. :)

Feel the fear and go for it full force...nonetheless.

We trek the steps
At first unconscious
Cascading darkness
Climbing light beams

Feels as such most days...excellent read.
