Handed Downs

Handed Downs

A Poem by Tricia Pattinson

Handed Downs
by Tricia Pattinson

Long before I knew the difference
Your teachings were accepted - worshiped
Rejecting handed downs out of question

Slipped in your predilections
Refurbished tendencies
Furies and passions

Reverse engineering
Taught I was wearing
Only older patchy handed downs

Skinning calmly
My unsuiting
A soul of beauty shines

Who I am knows the difference
The will it takes to choose naked
To seek out the foundation

Free of handed downs

T, what I love about your work is, you play with words and then discuss on various subjects! I truly am a loyal fan...respect.
