Habits Become Tomorrow
by Tricia Pattinson If tomorrow brought you a wish Any wish you made today Which habit of your mind Would your wish provide? Wishy washy or lovey dovey Some habits are self destructive Winning is important in the minds of some The World owes everything to greedy ones Could I wish for cleaner air? Sparkling water for the desert's bairns? Holy fever's practitioners to cool their heels? Selflessness freed of deceit? I might feed my habit of tenacity The will to weed my garden of useless thatchery Draw a world where all questions are acceptable Answers are a banquet that nourish those in need If tomorrow came again What would your second habit bring? Would you venture to listen to the habits of your heart? Renew your hope or strength to free yourself from the wheel? © 2014 Tricia Pattinson |
