DianaA Chapter by LadyMacaroon
My name is Diana Sanders. I am fourteen. I go to Ashbury Private Academy for young girls.
Diana Sanders sat with her back to the hard, crumbling brick walls. Her clear blue eyes brimmed with the tears that threatened to fall. She had not been brought up like the other girls at school; they were sophisticated, sassy and downright mean. She was a girl from the country, 'unfashionable' and as innocent as a six year old, minus the mischief. "Diana! Why are you sitting there alone? Are you scared we will beat you up again?" sneered Valerie, the meanest of them all. She was slim and tall, with golden blond hair falling gracefully to her waist. Her cronies laughed loudly; especially her wannabe best friend, Gabby. She was snorting loudly with laughter, only stopping when Valerie silenced her disdainfully with a 'ew'. "Oooh, Sanders has no mummy to take care of her now, right girls?" Valerie launched another well aimed jab. Diane had put up with this kind of teasing for many weeks now, but bringing her mum, her mum who had been wrongly accused, into the argument was plain wrong. She sprang into the air like a cat, her shoulder length curly red hair falling from its elastic. Her fists were clenched in rage, her pale face turning bright red. "Oh look. Its the wannabe Miss. England! Or is it Miss Tomato!" yelled Valerie, clutching her hair and screaming with laughter. But her mirth was short lived, for Diana snapped. All of her pent-up anger had been put through an agonising slap, as her pale hand connected with Valerie's tanned cheek. The crowd gasped. No sound was heard. "Want some of that?" Diana shouted, breathing hard. After the initial silence wore off, Diana finally saw the consequences of her rash and reckless action. Oh God, she had kitty slapped the most popular girl in the school. "Omigosh, did you just slap Valerie?!" squealed Gabby loudly. "You should be ashamed!" "Yeah, Sanders. You do it just because you are jealous of Valerie." sniffed Nicole, another one of the 'Gang'. She tossed her hair. "Lets go and leave this loser alone." Valerie sashayed away, rolling her eyes and whispering something into Nicole's ear. Diana just stood there, feeling more like a leper than ever. She knew she was unpopular, but made no attempt to be like The Gang. As far as she was concerned, the group were just a bunch of blond, fake girls who could not see past their own noses. Sighing, she picked up her black bag and jogged out of the school gates.
