The Queen of the Arts

Queen of the Arts

From writing to reading, playing to performing,

I, Alyssa of Roth, have mastered much.

Yes, three books per day, five more by night.

I raise a pencil to paper, and worlds will arise.

My writings and drawings create a new dimension.

The music I play can woo the saddest of souls.

Open mindedness, open doors, opportunity, is all I see.

There is always time for another novel to be finished; there is always time to type.

You see a blank piece of paper; I see a canvas with potential.

Not even the best of dreamers can live my life,

Not the happiest of men can feel my triumph.

And to this day and beyond, I declare myself the Queen of the Arts.

I am the master of the very same arts that beg for a creative mind,

Master of the very same arts that shed ballpoint-blood.

Send me to the largest bookstore and I’ll conquer all of the literature.

Fantasy, fiction, fantastical lands; autobiographies, adventure, awesome epics.

Give me a composition of music if you dare.

Be prepared; the notes will leave the staff and go into your mind as I play the phrases.

It is true that passion and pain go hand in hand,

And it is a cruel life holding such a title,

Yet the pain implies perfection.

As the Queen of the Arts, I’ve mastered it all.

This poem is motivational. I see your blaze of desire turning mountains into ashes. I have much catching up to do. So, LadyKarma, I thank you.
