Miracles in Lions

Miracles in Lions

A Poem by Violet's Run
"

A true recounting of an experience in my early years. that has stayed with me to this day...

"
I remember the purring

Deep and rough.

Yet soft and  comforting

There was a sensation of sandpaper

Being rubbed all over my head

That woke me up

The little girl of 4

Rubbing her eyes wide open

Not a bit afraid

Of the two mountain lions

That she slept with in a cage

Wandering in uninvited

The cage door left unlocked

A sad and lonely child

Found a miracle of love

In such an unexpected place

So do not doubt that miracles

Happen each and every day

For this story is a true one

I am here to say....

I am here to say.....

Nature is not hesitant, now is true reality. I have held humming birds, been carried by wind, faced angry cats defending my daughter, been within reach of a walrus, and can readily identify with this work.
