Sometimes the best dream can become a nightmare

I see a beast 

as it stalks
 the day
and
 runs at night
It growls
and prowls
....sometimes.....

like a panther......
all in dark....
.....Sometimes.....
it pretends
to be sunshine
Then

 It laughs....

.....because.....
it is my
reflection

wonderful! reading this was easy, flows seamlessly, .. i am particularly drawn to this style of writing :) the complexity of our human condition in those closing lines is brilliant says I .. i look in your eyes and see the you/me .. and visa versa .. thats what i see ;) .. brilliant says i! simply brilliant!

thank you mr samuel.. I appreciate your words and ex navy is my father and my son.. USS Bellawood my son and my dad was in Korea.. A NAvy dentist... he would never, ever eat a bowl of navy bean soup... I love them.. :) But I did not have to eat as many as i guess he did... Thank you again for reading..

I was drawn to this by the title, which reminds me of a song by Peter Gabriel. These sparse but meaningful words are haunting and in their own way, beautiful. (Ex Navy guy, I have very fond memories of the valley in which you live)
