La Soldadera

La Soldadera

A Poem by Violet's Run
"

Women have been fighters for more than love...

"

La Soldadera

Moonlight caresses your face with beauty ;
the mystery lies in your smile.
For you are a warrior to me woman;
not a soft and seductive distraction but;
the tenacious and skilled gun fighter I am not
why do you seek to kill more than love?
Oh my soldadera
Can you not put your guns away tonight, for passion;
for the illusion that we are really here and not dead;
for is it not that we are ghosts in the making;
and these days are the ruins we linger in?
