Fear of Flying

sometimes we are our worst enemy

 

 

Where do I go from here?

 

I turn and look to my left

 

Down the road of past mistakes

 

I look to my right

 

To a future dark and uncertain

 

I try and live in the moment

 

Because any other spot is just rumor and heresay

 

Haunted by the dreams of a yesterday forgotten

 

Standing on the ledge of an unforeseen tomorrow

 

Backed by the ghosts of a life I knew yesterday

 

I am afraid of stepping into another bad decision

 

So many choices I have made now  lie in   ruin

 

I get to write an epitaph to them saying "So SAD"

 

Confidence is hard to muster in a landslide

 

So I stand here on this ledge asking when?

I

 

When are my dreams going to take off

 

So I can soar like a damn eagle

 

That is no longer afraid to fly!
