Bird in a Tree

Bird in a Tree

A Poem by LadyDavenport
"

In a moment of inspiration, I wrote this piece. It is nothing immensely special; I didn't pour hours into creating it. It was just a moment's thought whispering in my ear; I felt that if I didn't write it down immediately that it would disappear. Enjoy...

"

He cut off my wings so that I could not fly
He cut off my wings and soon I shall die
But my soul will not perish in the depths of hell
It will return with a vengeance, with sorrow to tell
I will be a bird that sings my song
And I will whistle and sing all day long
I will fill his day with madness and tears
Until he is torn to face his fears
He will see me then, the bird that I be
He will scream, he will cry for what he sees
And though he may take his last earthly breath
I will not be, nor become his angel of death
For I am what I am what else can I be
But an angel in heaven and a bird in a tree
