A Letter From The Past

A Letter From The Past

A Chapter by Brittni
"

Before her "disappearance" in March 1969, Valentina "V" Silvia Scungio left a letter in her diary explaining the contents to the one lucky enough to find in. The diary was discovered in March 1988.

"

I do not know your name, nor do you know mine. I know nothing about you other than the fact that in your hands you hold my eredità. There were moments of pride as well as shame. If she was reading this herself, my own bisnonna would be rolling over in her grave, waiting to smack me upside the head with her rolling pin. I have lived quite the lifestyle a young woman like me should have never known about. Once I was in, I was like a bambina running to the freshly cooked biscotti. With power, however, came the shame, grief, and eventually murder. I only hope my nipoti will never be bothered by my mystery. If they should ever come across me, I'd like for them to know that Nonna Valentina loved them dearly. As for you dear reader, I leave this into your hands. You may do as you please with it. My only hope is that you read these words and learn a little something about my history that very few know about. The life of a ragazza ha colpito was deadly and dangerous...yet oh so rewarding.

Dio vi benedica ogni giorno,

Valentina "V" Silvia Scungio

I mix the English language with certain Italian words. This is my first stab at a historical piece, so honest feedback please!

If you get the chance, I recommend the Flashman Papers by George McDonald Frasier. This is a good start, but George can help with first person view.
