Cold Heart Snake

Cold Heart Snake

A Poem by Brittni
"

Friends are like animals, one day they can turn on you.

"

The day starts, sunny and bright.

The wind still, providing no relief.

You scamper around, looking for nuts,

Yet you're happy as a clam.

You don't see me,

In fact, do you remember me?

Where I live, or what I look like?

Or the fact that I hate the rain?

You haven't been by in so long,

I needed you, but you weren't around

Every day you didn't call,

The anger grew just a little more.

I just find it hard to believe,

That you still don't see me.

It's time for a lesson to be taught,

About how you should treat your friends.

Now now, don't struggle my dear,

Don't try to break away.

It breaks my heart to see the fear,

when once there had been joy.

You cry, wondering why,

I could have been so cruel.

I watch as your life drips away,

While my venom sinks in.

You hurt me and forgot about me,

But you were just bit by a cold hearted snake.

This poem gave me chills. I have hairs standing up on my arms.
Excellent. I love the genuine suspense.
