chapter 14, Harleys first unofficial session with a mystery client.

"

SQUEE!!!! My first client! EVER!!! I do realize that if anyone found out about this Jonathan could get in alot of trouble, probably even go to jail for something like this. But, this does prove that he does love me and is willing to trust me with something very special. But, even still as I was standing in front of the vanity running a brush through my thick blonde hair for a final time I couldn't help but smile. He walked in about a moment later, two mugs of coffee in his hands. For a moment I thought I saw a twinkle in his eye, almost like a proud father. Seeing it made my heart swell and beat warmly for a moment as he set the mug on the dresser.

"Good morning my Annabel Lee. Are you excited for your first day?" He asked me as I patted on some light grey eyeshadow to match my suit that I had picked for the occasion. It was a black suit with a grey knit turtleneck that I picked to match perfectly with the suit. From there I added a pair of black onyx earrings and a matching necklace. I finished applying make-up and took a step back and looked in the mirror. I smiled as I looked at my reflection. I then turned back to Jonathan as he sipped his coffee.

"So, how do I look?" I asked him as he held me tightly around my waist as we looked at our reflections in the mirror. For a moment I couldn't help but feel like this is the way it is meant to be.

"You look amazing and smart. Now do you remember everything I told you?" He quizzed me as I sipped my coffee quickly and pulled my high heels on.

"Yes sir, stay professional, don't take anything to heart, and if you feel threatened notes the emergency button is right underneath the top of the desk." I recited back to him as he nodded in approval as he took my hand and we walked out of his apartment and outside into the cool November sunshine. I gotta admit it was VERY weird to come out of the apartment building with him by my side when I was so used to running out of there at the break of dawn. I unlocked my car as he went to his and I followed him to his private office building. I walked inside and felt a rush of warm air welcome me along with the annoying voice of Brandy or Brianna, whatever the voice of his blonde haired, blue-eyed secretary was. I had only met her half a dozen times since I first met Jonathan, but she always managed to rub me the wrong way. She turned her heavily made-up face upwards and merely nodded good morning to us as we pushed open the heavy oak door to his office. As soon as it shut, I shook my head.

"Sincerely, why haven't you fired her?" I asked him as he laughed and set out two files on his desk.

"Ok, these are your two appointments for the morning. One is older and one is a little younger. Just stay relaxed, you'll do fine. I will check on you after your second appointment ends." Jonathan stood up as he leaned over and kissed me on my cheek.

"Knock em dead kid." He said with a laugh as he turned and left the office, leaving me alone.
