A Poem by Ashley Blair

Crimson drips slowly
Like saline for their spirit
Life support in sin

The stained glass is
Like thorns in my wounded eyes
Their self righteousness

Oh god that the damned
See with such clarity
They crucify me

Your children of the
Supposed light seek to make
Me evermore blind

I wrote this while I was in church - a place I seldom attend. And I felt like a foreigner. I felt like my entire being was on the verge of betraying me at any point. Pointing out to the congregation that I am not like them.
