The Light in My Darkness

The Light in My Darkness

A Poem by Ashley Blair

Every inhibition and
Black thought
I have
Wearingly loses the ability
To pirouette
From my lips
And fails to bow
Gracefully
Into your ears
The ones that not only
Hear
But listen
To everything that gives
And takes away from me
Suddenly
The songs and laments of every
Sweet release
Oh how these words
Die
They fade
They burn quickly
And the only ones that
Remain
Are the
Unspoken
But known
Words
That your eyes
Say

Ashley Blair
The way I feel when I stare into the love of my life's eyes is rather inexplicable, besides three words: I love you.
