Damned Salvation

Damned Salvation

A Poem by Ashley Blair

Sweet sips of the blood of salvation
They drink holy wine as we entertain our demons
I could kill myself
What would they see?
Maybe it would look lovely if I died by a rosary
Oh so filthy
Intoxicated by darkness
In the form of purity
Cover your tainted skin, they say
Use the blood of the lamb to paint, they say
Not even the angel of death seeks to desecrate
The monster
We want you to be
How long does he have to bleed
I'd rather toast to the devil
Than be in self righteous company

This poem isn't to mock religion or offend anyone. This is meant for you to think about good and evil. In some cases, those who claim righteousness are the very ones that are the biggest hypocrites you'll ever meet.

Christ himself said "natural man is an enemy of God". So sister you profoundly and true. We will always sway towards the evil. What Christ did was gives an option to come back to our birthright of divinity through his sacrifice. Perhaps you may have already known this. I do enjoy how your brilliance explores the burdens of humanity.

I say cheers to freedom, to sating desires and not being forced into complacency, really liked the flow and feel of this poem.
