Loving You

Loving You

A Poem by Ashley Blair

I love you
Like a short poem
With more depth than words convey

I love you
Like little sips of tea
On a lacey winter day

I love you
Like the little strokes my pencil makes
You are far greater than these words on paper
You have more meaning than just your name.

I love you
Because you love every shade of me
The shades of white, black, grey, and ivory

I love you
Like the blue tide that washes away the pain
Your water overflows and makes me whole again

I love you
Like the sweet melodies
That come to me in my sleep

I love you
Like the wild flowers in the field
With their lovely grace

I love you
With this cosmic attraction
That is greater than the heavens and space

I love you
Like only I can do,
Because I only merely exist without you.

I like each example you gave. It says so much about how you feel. I wonder about (only merely)? Those two instances of the letter y so close together. Hardly exist would be better but I could be wrong. I like this poem.

Oh, the philosophies of love countless as the night sky stars and just as breathtaking.
