Rise of the Fallen

Rise of the Fallen

Rise of the Fallen

One by one the drug chips away

Youth, vitality, honesty decay

Invincibility energy leading the way

Forget faith and the ability to pray

Only in the mind does the sun shine that day

Locked in a dark room “life” held at bay

Small is the window blinds shut tight

Try to keep the high with all their might

Focus on the drug the only sight

Reality doesn’t accommodate the existence of plight

Take that next hit they’re on their flight

Not even knowing if it is day or night

Loses grip on the precision of time

Lose concept of money spend every dime

All the family stands against you combined

Twisted thinking outward and sublime

Takes up with the Devil and his kind

Till nothing’s left there is no more “mine”

Now with nothing and nowhere to turn

The drug world been forced to learn

Takes all of you watches you burn

Life is over you finally discern

Party is gone you have to adjourn

Get back the losses your only concern

Start by walking into a meeting

Next you’ll want to stop all the cheating

Forget drug friends still competing

Grab onto wholesome thoughts fleeting

Learn to say NO and begin defeating

Stop tearing yourself up stop the beating

Little by little watch and compare

Calcium and iron make full the hair

Wake up bright not in despair

Try a piggy bank if you dare

Send mom some flowers if you care

Make new friends try the square

Get a job responsible become

Move back home get out of slum

Try back to school get this done

Keep a journal of your heart your new fun

Work on yourself you’re the only one

Who can beat addiction and know you’ve won!

MORE POWER TO ALL THE FALLEN WHO HAVE RISEN~KEEP THE FAITH~

I hope you can accomplish. Always a pleasure to read your words.

Grateful...!!
I love this! I can feel the amount of emotion you filled this poem with. The journey from a lost soul waiting for the next fix to a profound happy individual with a new found purpose in life. Loved every word! 100/100
