The Chameleon Dealer

The Chameleon Dealer

A Poem by LadyAnn68
"

A changeable devil to watch out for

"

The Chameleon Dealer

The dealer in your addicted world

Becomes the power adapter to existence

The deeper drawn down you follow

All your money he takes with persistence

And the moment that you succumb

With gentle persuading and insistence

You will cross that invisible line

Becoming his disciple with no resistance

Bright white teeth he is always there

Ghetto corners wearing diamonds and Fila sneakers

He singles you out giving you extra amounts

Turning you into a door peep-hole peeper

Your clouded judgment says he’s your friend

But he is nothing more than a female leaper

Quicker than a blink your on the streets

He is the Master and your keeper

Down and raining you have nothing to offer

Try to get some credit very bold

Covering you like the shepherd of his flock

Counting on later your body to be sold

Putting you in the room with many others

They warn you better do as you are told

Lying on the hard floor in a corner

With a torn sheet feeling very cold

Weekend here you got to earn money

Bad night slapped around cut face and bruised

Dealer sees swearing vengeance on them

Thinking now your safe you can’t lose

Instead of tending to your wounds

He hands you a full bottle of booze

Drunk and high not feeling any pain

Turns you out again the streets to cruise

The dealer changes his colors just like the wind

Women they will come women always know

According to how much money they've made

Just how much the dealer they can show

Dependent addicts always obey the dealer

Standing or waiting in rain, sleet, or snow

Beware of this devil hiding as a chameleon

Hell is the last exit the only place you will go

WATCH OUT FOR ANY CHANGEABLE LIZARDS~
