ReflectionA Poem by LadyAnn68Checking back and remain happy with recoveryReflection
The sea changes its calm Just as emotions expand wide The sky changes colors As the sun climbs down to hide The good in “us” changes character When drugs work inside And only WE will return When “street life” is left behind
It was easy to leave home And run loose and wild at night You were young, your were strong And so full of life But when all the money ran out Just existing became strife By the time you crawled homeThe sun was high and bright
Sleep was all consuming No matter your mother’s tears And where to get your next hit Became your biggest fear While taking that next "hit" All emotion disappears Only until you hit “rock bottom”Unaware that “change" is near The chances you’re taking The struggles you now face Are harder than you think Yet giving up means disgrace The craving never stops It just can’t be replaced God will help you find RECOVERY Your future happy placeREFLECTION ALWAYS IS INCENTIVE TO KEEP RECOVERY!
