About a troubled life who wants to think positively again~

Today’s Thinking

 

How can I think clearly

When my life is so complicated

How to secure employment

With all my convictions adjudicated

Will my children ever feel secure

While my husband is separated

 

I seek help, I need a plan

Help to focus each way that is new

A method to get through each day

Without obsessive wanting a sip of booze

Crawl into bed in the evening

Not always crying or singing the blues

 

I wish I could find just for me

An altruistic kind of friend

One to work the steps together

Never wanting it to end

Just a simple individual

Claims to love me over and over again

 

If I could find the navigation

Of positive thinking of the here and now

If I could instill all the love that I feel

And teach this to my children somehow

If I could win one successful moment

I would soar through the highest clouds

 

With simple efforts of reorganizing

All the things to prioritize on

Have strong Cuban coffee each morn

While I listen to my favorite song

Quick and silently say a secret prayer

To start my day positively strong

 

 Suddenly a smile crosses my lips

Pondering over my present life

Clean and sober I can claim this day

My children now stand at my side

I know my life can only get better

All I have to do is try

 

TODAY’S THINKING IS WONDERFUL AND POSITIVE… WHAT ELSE IS THERE?

you can feel the struggle, the resilience, the determination and the faith to persevere in this piece... Ahhhh my Poetry Queen, you have completely hit the mark with this one. I can't talk right now but I do know we do need to try our best to think positively all the time... It's the only way to go -- however, I can't talk about that because I can't follow my own advice right now, hahha. I loved this one, LadyAnn!!

I know this place. I been there a few times. Above lines are true. Today I'm alive for my kids. I hope things are better. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
