Late Though It May Be…

 

What can be heard?

Naked caring,

What can be told?

Naked Sharing,

What can be taught?

Naked learning,

What can be bold?

Naked spurning,

What can be had?

Naked yearning!

 

I don’t have to hide behind anyone else’s shadow,

I can lead now yet still I will always follow,

My dreams not my vices,

My education no matter the prices,

Late though it may be,

I am finally happy to just be me!

 

What can be heard?

A hollow sound,

What can be told?

How your feet hit the ground,

What can be taught?

To look all around,

What can be bold?

Leaving that past crowd,

What can be had?

The lost pound!

 

One day at a time can be way to long,

So work with just a step first,

No need to sweat that swindled lost time,

No need to feel a sudden thirst,

Late though it may be you’re finally at a successful thrive

Treasure your passion and be thankful you’re alive!

 

 

What can be heard?

The loving purring of a pet,

What can be told?

Tears you’ve wept,

What can be taught?

To change past steps,

What can be bold?

The prayers you kept,

What can be had?

Achievements you’ve lept!

 

All the roads you’ve traveled in time,

And all those wrong symptoms,

Now you’re no longer young,

You forgot to make any provisions,

Late though it may be you’re finally past those past convictions,

There’s only one pathway now,

Thankful it’s by choice and your own decisions!

Wonderful....it is one of my works for the addiction book. if you would like I can tell you a couple to read....the winner of the International contest was "The Paper, The Pen, and The Author" I am sure you will like this as much as the country did....I got over 1500 responses for this one. Another might be... "If I could Have One Wish...A Love Story"...I got over 2000 responses for this one and sits at the top of all of mine! Again written for my ex and one and only love Terry .... my memories of him and our love! There are others that are really good ...."Me and MY Shadow", "Freshly Awakened"...everyone loved that. Check them out!

The above lines I do like a lot. We must set goals and then follow them. I like the complete poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry. A perfect ending to the outstanding poem.

Again music to my ears! I thank you....

I have not been able to concentrate on my writing work, I have finals in 3 weeks and a huge research paper I am working on now! I miss all of you and will return right after I do my final exam on May 2nd. I am frightened about this final and can't write with this kind of fear...can't wait for it to be over!

You are best just to be yourself no matter who tells you different. It is better to be you than someone you thought others wanted you to be. Never change for anyone. I loved this poem and the message.

Oh yea...the purring of a pet is my kitty whom took the place of everyone I loved turned to hate me when I was on drugs. My kitties got me through a very rough time...ALONE!
