Recovery is Not a CompromiseA Poem by LadyAnn68This is an inspiring poem that lets you know it is alrightRecovery is not a Compromise
Do you feel it, is there any space left for me, Did you give it thought that you wanted to be life long drug-free, Addiction is a maddening beast that can strike in every man, Be strong enough to share it, and we will lend a helping hand.
Recovery is not something to “compromise”, Recovery is “struggling” in every addict’s eyes, Recovery is an answered “prayer” that you realize, Recovery is God’s present and is the winning “prize”!
The hardest part is admitting that things went so wrong, Spiraled out of control in the day and all the night long, Day after day, night after night, searching for more money, And in the morning you felt like dirt, when the sky was beautiful and sunny.
Recovery is not something to “compromise”, Recovery is “struggling” in every addict’s eyes, Recovery is an answered “prayer” that you realize, Recovery is God’s present and is the winning “prize”!
You’re missing out on God’s original laws, To love your country, your family, having purpose and a cause, Not to get high and lose total responsibility, To sink so low and lose even your self-respectability.
Recovery is not something to “compromise”, Recovery is “struggling” in every addict’s eyes, Recovery is an answered “prayer” that you realize, Recovery is God’s present and is the winning “prize”!
And if you believe you can’t do it all alone, Just remember you’re an addict not a stone, And with a prayer in the darkest of the night, God will light the way and help you find what is right.
