A poem about the rise of the "Lady" behind the words...

Is it All Worth It?

 

A vacation day she took

Slept hours into the afternoon

Stayed in bed to watch movies

Knowing Christmas would be over soon

 

She went back to school right where she left off

She studies harder and more than most

She sits back and ponders over the past

Sometimes it creeps up on her…like a ghost

 

She wonders if she will ever be free

Of the nightmares, the shame, or the guilt

Does anyone really care about her

Or the brand new life she has built

 

Most of her family still rejects her

There simply is NO making amends

She has only three people she can count on

And only one true-faithful-life-long friend

 

They proclaim in Recovery

You should not become involved

You are destined to a life of loneliness

Negative relationships can NEVER be solved

 

When one tries so very, very hard

She contemplates what is she doing all this for

She decides it’s important that her life become an index

For future addicts to walk through that “righteous” door

 

If her life saves even ONE person

She can spread her wings like a dove

She can soar through heights beyond the heavens

Because the one thing she can count on….is  God’s LOVE!

 

YES… IT IS ALL WORTH IT!.....

I'm completely backing what Dale said. You shouldn't need to apologise for trying to become a better you. We all try to improve ourselves at some point, heck, I do it all the time. Don't you ever let anyone bring you down because you're perfect just the way you are.
