Make Life and Love the Choice

 

Even though your past is trouble

Make life the choice on the double

You can strive

You can hide

You will live

Or you will die

Don’t let trying pass you by.

 

No matter how old in age it comes

Innocence still follows in every love

You can stand

You can fall

You can leave it

Or you can have it all

Don’t let experience pass you by.

 

Only when your spirit is free

From pains in life turned agony

You can care

You can hate

You can share

Or you can separate

Don’t let your goals pass you by.

 

When you choose love you can always tell

Watch your partner under the spell

You are young

You are old

You are sexy

You are bold

Don’t let love pass you by.

 

When its time to make that stand

Let it be known, let it be grand

You can be silent

You can shout

You can get educated

You can pout

Don’t let LIFE pass you by

I couldn't agree more, after all, we are a product of our choices. It would be nice if we could blame our troubles on someone else, and then make them take it back. Then everything would revert back to wonderful days. But that is not reality. We hopefully learn to make better choices that will bring better outcomes.

I agree with the logic and the purpose of the poem. We go forward and if we are alive. We can change. I like how you used the repetition. Allowing the reader to feel the emotion and thoughts inside your words. I tell all people. We decide our journey good or bad. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

In most of my inspirational poetry (for addiction poetry book) I like to make a statement at the end in all caps! This particular poem was written because I had a very unusual moment and FELT IT! I love to write my feelings as they come out..I am glad you like this one as it is so determined!~ BOLD...huh? I wrote it so fast! But I love it! Thank you!

This is stellar work!! Intergalactic stellar!!! I like how focused it is. It never veers off target. It is likewise an amazingly important message. This is not something anyone should forget. I guess being me, I like the second to last stanza very much because it is about love and about being whoever you are and still being loving. I love the line, "When it is time to make THAT stand." The idea of making the stand to NOT let anything important pass you by is incredibly important. "Let it be grand!" Amen!! Whatever brings you to doing what you have to do, you must do it. Terrific vindication of love of life!
