Overdose Eyes

Overdose Eyes

A Poem by Shadow

I look to the skies with these overdose eyes

And inside another piece of my heart dies

Because of your lies, because you were mine.

I used to be clean with the emotion eyes

I used to be happy with my simple, good life

But you were a lie, and it almost died.

I used to be nice with these bright and blue eyes,

With gray, and green, and blue in the white

But now they're dull with the blood-shot lines.

Now I'm alone with these overdose eyes,

The color of your eyes, the way love dies

Making me feel sorry that I'm even alive.

These overdose eyes will always be mine

A reminder for whom I will always cry

Because of your lies, because our love died.

Great writting, love the way you used your words. Simplicity sometimes is better. And in this case it definitely was. I hope to read more of your writting.

This is really a magnificent piece of work , I enjoy the simplicity of it
You do a very good job of conveying the negativity of this piece ( in a good way of course)

I am depressed. I am ill. I am alone. Are you too? I hide behind a crystal clear mask, yet none can see through the lie, and so I write. I write to relieve the pain. I write to be real. I write .. more..
