The night the stars fell from the sky

The night the stars fell from the sky

A Poem by Lauren Xena Campbell
"

I wrote this when my best friend when to uni

"

On reflection what a happy circumstance,

To have departed misery and entered your arms,

In blissful joy and ignorance this chance,

Too soon torn to what frustrations will calm.

Departing darkness of raven flight,

The night the stars fell from the sky,

Loneliness with strength more then my might,

Destiny shall sever our tie.

And what of fortune in foolish gold,

Seeking riches of past influence, future profit,

When truth searches renewal as my goal,

Not the reality of the beloved departed.

The idea of the stars falling from the sky and of the sky's resulting darkness is an overwhelming notion. It is sad how lives go separate ways and how relationships are shaken apart, especially in the 16-26 years when so much happens to us and changes over and over.
