Damn you inspiration!

Damn you inspiration!

A Poem by Lauren Xena Campbell
"

Just a little something to lent my frustration after having writers block for a full week!

"

Bloodthirsty cretin!

You, who would drain my heart,

You, this plague, so tiring,

Force me to work,

Late at night,

Never ending,

My eyes weep for you,

And this torment you give me…

I’ve tried so so hard to meet you,

Eye to eye,

Realisation,

But your always one step ahead,

Feasting on my salvation,

Breaking my windows,

My only source of freedom,

Trapped in this, your creation, depression…

One day will you let me go?

Save me for this-

Trembling devastation,

And all my urges to write!

Damn you inspiration!

I think, on this site, you will be preaching to the choir with this poem. That said, you have certainly expressed that incredibly frustrating sentiments associated with writer's block successfully. Your work is always a joy to read. Thanks for sharing, and hopefully your writer's block will leave you alone now... at least for a little while.

I can see inspiration as a mischievous 7 year old in a room full of adults...hiding behind chairs and curtans, never to be found in the same place twice if at all. Damn it!

Dreams are not made to be broken, but are created in the heart to write destiny! I've always loved making up stories and putting words down onto paper, despite the fact that I only really learnt to.. more..
