Humanities tragedies

Humanities tragedies

A Poem by Lauren Xena Campbell

Seething hatred fills their heart,
Torturing their souls,
Bringing darkness to their lands,
So soon the crow will call.
Wartime stories.
Soothingly their voices cry,
Codling their babes,
But tears will rain with thunders shells,
As death tolls will come nigh.
Peace always dies.
Blood flows like a winter shower,
The fall from grace or power,
As government makes their final decisions,
So too must their countrymen face oblivion.
Humanities tragedies.

so well said, and even optically an eye catch. It looked like two poems in one. I think that people can't learn anymore. It's to late and it will come even worse, when the price of oil will go up to 200$/barell I won'T wonder. This is all because of not looking inside oneself. Man doesn't fight against man, it is reason against reason, they cannot feel anymore, they lost compassion. This is really the real dilapidation of our western values. It's too late. so what we can do. do no thing. One is really on the way to hell.

It is true that hatred and war are bad and must be avoided. Sadly we go on and on in the same old ways. Defusing aggression is an absolute priority. It would be great to write poems or even one poem or line that could do that in any way. You certainly put your finger on how things are here.

Xena-

Great write. As much as people write about the glories of battle, this is only one side of war. Then, you have all the babies that never make it home to see their mothers. It seems to be so easy for the leaders to make such decisions while they are protected by the secret service behind seemingly impenentrable walls of soldiers, but it is a lot less easy to make your decisions when in a foreign land where nobody speaks the language in a flak jacket made of gasoline trying to light up a smoke.

This poem is over the tops! I have only been on Writer's Cafe for a week and I am over whelmed by the writings. Lauren's poem on Humanities Traged. is over 100% as well as Raven Spirit's story about personal experience about Vietnam. Living in that era of Vietnam and current war torn current events, as females we definitely see war from another objective/angle. Excellent writings! It comes from the heart! It moved me deeply. I would like to see a group of us putting together book of our feelings of war.

I love this poem! It reminds me of my Frality of War. Being brought up in the Vietnam era, people that start wars are frail human beings. Unfortunately, I have been reading a couple of books currently that I now understand why countries do not like us. One of my best girl friends lost a fiance in Vietnam. It was difficult time for all us when we were not even in the fighting here, we felt the pain and lost of mothers, daughters and wives, husbands, brothers, and sons. Michele (EleanaNouvelle.)

This is a piece that rings true with many people or cultures that have gone through such atrocities. When I first read it, I got the mental image of the native Americans and what happened to them. As I read it again, I could see whole nations throughout time facing the same situation. Great write and great read. Kudos.

This rings true on so many levels, it's kinda like a shotgun blast to the mind! Powerful write.

About
Dreams are not made to be broken, but are created in the heart to write destiny! I've always loved making up stories and putting words down onto paper, despite the fact that I only really learnt to.. more..
