Golden Reflection

Golden Reflection

A Poem by Lauren Xena Campbell

Golden curls, bright blue eyes, Nazi’s delight,

Tall, sender, the high of fashions flavouring,

Hitler’s hinderer, the Devils delight, uncaring,

I curse the day you ruled me.

Never gentle eyes sparkling with sympathy,

Just thunder laughing, beating, and teasing,

Claws like a tiger, soul as black as panther's fur,

No delight like torture, paint your canvas with my pain.

Revenge with be sweet dear saint, O yes,

Your complaints will not deafen my woe,

Perfection wears thin like enamel, shield decomposed,

Upon reflection, something childish, deranged and plain.

Really good poem. Some of the phrases you use like "never gentle eyes" and "perfection wears thin" are great at getting your point across. I think "Painting your canvas with my pain" maybe the strongest line of the piece. Poignant, meloncholy, strong poem. You've left a definite impression in mind of who this person is and what they're like. Kudos.

that seeming white knight on the shining white charger turned out to be the devil in disguise or not. Nobody's interpretation is never the same as my intention when I write a poem. I love the loathing language.

If I read right you had a bad relationship with a Neo-Nazi. That is what your reference says to me. Irregardless whatever happened I hope it is behind you. Everyone deserves to be happy.

this is the poetical charge. I like how you were weaving history and I liked "Claws like a tiger, soul as black as panther's fur, / No delight like torture, paint your canvas with my pain."
this is wonderful.... I think this is also so beautiful, for you play with words, same consonants, my tongue liked this when I was reading loud.. "Perfection wears thin like enamel, shield decomposed, / Upon reflection, something childish, deranged and plain. " wonderful work!
