The shadows of realisation
A Poem by
Lauren Xena Campbell
The mind is a labyrinth,
Twisted with complex thoughts,
Parchments stacked high filled with memories,
A library of lusts and fears.
In the labyrinth lie good and evil,
The wicked created by an outside reality,
From being cast aside, trapped and burned,
The good coming from the sun, the soul.
Men and women have tried to un-riddle the labyrinth,
Losing themselves in a reality not suited to their intellect,
But they do not understand the game,
For here only the inner child can play.
At its centre the labyrinth holds desire,
Dreams, creation, fear and fantasies,
The shadows of realisation,
Only one can reach the centre-the corners of the mind.

intricate in design, a piece meant to make the mind think, very creative and different, I really enjoyed reading it. I like how you described the mind as a labyrinth, because the first thing that comes to mind is a dark, scary maze which represents infinite possibilities and of course, the possibility of no escape.

very interesting piece. i like how you included both the good and the bad that can emerge from the mind.
"For here only the inner child can play"
-loved that line
any particular reason for the color/font choice?

thought provocing, imaganative, somewhere i'd like to be. i think you could improve this piece by changing the font because it doesn't suit the context.

smile ... I see the mind as the web of creation like leaves upon trees of inspiration where the roots are a web bringing nourishing wine from a living loving heart full what's fine; a living TREE that's you and me ... write on, Lauren!
